Welcome to our website! This site has been created to keep our 4-H members updated, keep the residents of our county informed, and provide information to those interested in joining or supporting our club.
The Spartanburg County Cut Above Beef Club was established in 2006. Tim and Radawn Elmore started the club by holding monthly meetings at their family farm. Leadership was moved to Ronnie and Jessie Ballard a few years after the club began. The Ballard's have extensive 4-H leadership background from their home 4-H club in Florida, Myakka Allstock. They did a wonderful job of leading our club and helping our members gain knowledge and experience. In January 2012, a past Cut Above President, Carrie Elmore took the position of Club Leader. The Cut Above Beef Club currently has about 15 active youth members who participate in meeting, shows, and other events throughout the year. We raise beef cattle from an assortment of many different breeds including Angus, Hereford, Maine Anjou, Simmental, and Shorthorn. We travel to local and state shows. Some of our members compete on regional and national levels. Our local shows are concentrated in the fall months, August- October. Regional and National shows are usually held mid-summer or winter. When we aren't traveling to cattle shows, we spend our time taking care of our cattle. Our club holds meetings throughout the year at the Cross Anchor Fire Department. We also take a few trips each year to different companies in the agriculture industry. If you are interested in attending a meeting or show, please contact us for more details concerning the date, time, and location. We would love for you to join us!
